Apple unveiled its Vision Pro mixed reality headset to surprise and awe–for the technology of course, but also for its $3,499 price tag. Caviar, a luxury accessory maker, is topping that with an Apple Vision Pro case worth $39,990.

Inspired by Tom Ford flip-up glasses and Gucci ski masks, Caviar’s case features a headband made of Connolly leather, which is used by the British Royal Court and Rolls-Royce. Meanwhile, the casing is “adorned” with 18-karat gold.

The headset is set to launch in early-2025 with a limited edition run of 24 pieces. Why would anyone need a case for the Vision Pro? Caviar claims that “not everyone appreciates having their eyes displayed on the external screen”, so the case include a flip up gold front.

It’s more likely that buyers of this case are less concerned with privacy, and more keen to turn a luxury electronic into an ultra-luxury statement piece.

About the Vision Pro

The Vision Pro allows users to overlay different apps on their surroundings, with everything from your email to fully immersive VR worlds, video games and movies. Its standout feature is the ability to adjust the level of immersion in the virtual environment, and it’s controlled using both hand gestures and voice commands–no controllers needed.
